Technically this email came from the president. This company has been decent to me in my time here, but the audacity of asking this from an administrator who definitely makes a lot more than I do, makes me want to never work for this company again. Several signs (car, outfits, sons car who got a job there) point to the owner being a millionaire. Absolute foolishness.

apple_6 OP. 23h I wish I could ignore all the emails this company sends. It's like these admins just sit at their computers and send emails meanwhile the real issues we face on the road never get addressed.

. 17h reptarcannabis Report is as a fraud attempt fishing scam email to hr lol I would do this with a stone cold face and back that up in person saying " surely the company isn't in such a bad financial situation where its workers are forced to pool money for the owners Christmas present, please tell me I'm wrong" lol I'm a petty and I take no

cobra_mist 14h It reeks of spear fishing and fraud. OP should point out that sketchy apps are being used in the email with no way to verify that his "donation" is actually going there. Also point out that the email spoofed the sender's name, or the got ahold of their email password. And for the coup de grace... after the dust has settled and all that's done with I'd match my ass up to the sender in public environment and say that you want to donate to that gift but you really only trust cash. The knotsbygordium • 22h you say? no. The employees' way of giving back is going in and doing a good job, and maybe, maybe, if you are lucky and treat them well? Then they take pride in their work because of that and go the extra mile to do great things on the clock. Bosses do not get gifties from their workers. Workers get gifties from their bosses.

CHE Mesocene Lean • 21h Don't you know the employees owe their masters for giving them a job and the absolute, legally allowed, bare minimum in compensation? Gosh, people are just so entitled these days. /s

Scytle. 22h let me get this straight, you go to work, lets say you bring 20$ an hour of money into the company, and because of the way capitalism works you get paid 15$ (if you are lucky), so every 20$ of money you make, you give 5$ to the boss for the privilege of making them money...you do the work, you bring in the money, but the boss gets a hefty cut...for reasons. And then at the end of a year of donating part of the money you make to the boss, they have the stones to ask for more? this, fo

apple_6 OP 21h Oh it's a lot worse than that. I make less than $20 an hour, and I've had a few patients tell me how much my company charges for non emergency transfers. $700+ for a 23 mile transport, from first patient contact to clear from call, under an hour. And another, $900+ for a 36 mile, about an hour. Numbers vague to protect my identity. My company absolutely contributes to the overspending in healthcare and battles with the insurance companies, and absolutely robs people. I only do my

schrutesanjunabeets. 21h It ain't just your company, kid. EVERY private EMS provider is like this. Get out while you can, go fire if you want to help people and actually make a living.

apple_6 OP 21h ● I've tried. I could post my whole sob story, but I'll just leave it at that I've tried and I'm absolutely aware that this is just EMS, and as I tried to say on the day to day I like my job and I like that I get to help people, but when they send an email like this it really makes me look at the whole up big picture.

theideanator • 21h My company security people say that if an email is asking you to do something weird, send it to the phishing filter. Even if this is legit, especially if it's legit, id gleefully report it and send out an @everyone reminding them not to fall for scams.
  • 16
apple_6 OP 21h ● It's legit they posted it on the bulletin board too. And it's the same exact email they send all their policy updates out of.

PurpleTOrnado • 14h If you're in government service, it's policy, in some places it's law, you are not to give your boss a gift. It looks like bribery or payoff for good reviews or raises.
